My dock lines from last year are not going to make another season. I use 5/8 double braided black lines and I was wondering what manufacturer you prefer and maybe where best place to buy?
Thanks so much

I bought mine at West Marine and used their brand of the year with no particular preference. Used 6 lines with a 4 way tie and springs fore and aft to slip my boat. The stern lines took a beating due to strong winds on the beam of the boat and big wakes from passing boaters. Each year I would buy two new lines and replace the ones on the stern with new. I would move the older lines through a rotation from bow to springs. The two oldest would go into my travel line inventory. We used to travel a lot and it was not uncommon to be next to a boater whose lines were in poor condition. If that ran the risk of causing a potential problem for my boat, I would donate a serviceable line or two to the skipper in need. It is important to maintain a supply of good lines. They are much cheaper than hull damage repairs.

I have used top knott for several things, very reasonable. i think go first class turned me on to them.
quick service and very good quality.

I noticed Home Depot is selling dock lines 1/2" and 5/8", same brand and rope that I bought from wholesale marine, didn't compare prices as had my lines for 3 years so can't remember what I paid for them or find sales slips.

We get what ever is on sale, has a picture of a boat on it and is braided. Had same lines since 2005. Think they are nylon. If they do not have a strength and break rating do not get them.

I use Hamilton Marine for all my lines. I figured if they use them over at Jamestown on the three reproductions sail boats they will work just fine on my 30
