2022 Custom 190 Lagoon Blue. 250 Merc upgrade, Sound upgrade, LED lighting.
Engines
Merc
I have never had a new car or new anything before. By choice because you can find great used cars. Boats? Just don't trust a used purchase enough so I went new. I am a boat freak and lake freak, but not a fisherman. I just like to party and chill, music, etc. I've always loved Sea Rays bc we had one as a child, I know they are good boats.

I just ordered:
2022 Lagoon Blue 190. The whole hull is going to be that color, beautiful. The color of the meth on Breaking Bad (not by choice, coincidence). I want to name the boat Walt's Fault (that randomly popped into my head) but I may get some resistance there lol. I didn't pile on the unnecessary options but I did get what I think is absolutely ESSENTIAL:

First order of the day was engine upgrade to 250hp. I don't want the boat to bog down when loaded, and I'm sure it will haul ass quite well. I want the biggest engine available.

Next I upgraded the sound system to the 1600 watt with woofer.

Added stainless steel package, the good cover that covers all vulnerable areas, and the LED lighting. Also, added the battery upgrade....you can't have a boat like this and run these accessories with one battery! Apparently there is no battery switch (the red thing) like I"m used to; it just does its thing automatically.

Paid about $60,000 out the door after TT&L, fees. I figure prices will just keep rising.

What do you guys think? How will that 250 upgrade run????? This stereo had better rock. LED lighting I hope is nice too, bc that's something easily done aftermarket. I bought this sight and drive unseen. Now I have to wait until next season, lol. It's not going very fast.

Post pic, dont know the color.
Everyone loves the dark hulls when new. Give it 3 years, gelcoat starts to fade oxides and you spend days waxing.
Engine choice is good, saying on here is “nobody ever wished they got a smaller engine option”.
Did you get the Honda generator option to put on the swim platform when anchor out for the night in a quiet cove?
Never heard of an auto perko switch. Maybe a new tech thing.
Profile dont say where you be using this music / light show machine.
Congrats, really, enjoy.

Congratulations and welcome aboard. Don’t know much about the boat you have but I can’t wait to see pics of it when you take delivery. She sounds gorgeous.

Lagoon blue is a neat color, for sure. It's different than the typical colors. Sea Ray uses a good quality gel so fading isn't really something to be overly concerned about - but, yes, keep a good wax on it never the less.

That boat is quite quick with the 200HP... it's an absolute rocket out the hole with the 250.

Have you thought about the upgraded upholstery package? Not to spend your money, but it is rather inexpensive and really dresses it up on the inside. Personal preference, of course.

That lagoon blue is stunning in person. Someone has a 190 in that color in our bay and it’s a freaking beautiful boat. A 250 on that size should keep you smiling for years. I have a blue center console, and it is tough to keep it shining. Count on waxing it several times a year and at least one polish per year.

You'll be happy with the 250hp. We have a 210 with the 250hp and it gets on plane quickly.

Upgraded upholstery sounds good. New Searays have fewer curves and thick cushions than their luxury predecessors but the right option packages might help. $60K seems a good price for that much boat. Looking forward to photos that show something special in the real world. Ad photos do not show the down side and I haven't been to a boat show in a while.

I do like the regular white enough to where I didn't upgrade it. White=less heat, though yes the ones with tan seating all around look super nice. I think I forgot to order the bow filler cushion, which I'll call about Monday and remedy. On the website it's a n/c option. That basically turns it into a bed up there.

Great to know about the engine, I don't doubt it one bit. I'll need a second mortgage for the gas bill probably but if I could only have one single extra, it would be the engine upgrade. I'm coming from a CC boat with a Yamaha 130 which was a gem of an outboard but this Merc 4.5 we're talking some pretty legit power. 250hp against 2600lb of boat, should haul ass.

Oh I'll have it waxed and polished, etc. That's no problem. Boat detailers everywhere here.

Generator wasn't an available option, though. I don't plan on sleeping overnight but two heavy duty batteries with an "Auto" switch is what I got. Dealer explained it to me, but honestly I'd be fine with the red switch like I had on my old one where you do it manually, pick which battery to run or run them both. I'm sure this will be fine, though.

I plan on using this beauty on Fort Loudoun and Tellico lake in Knox and Loudoun Counties, but there are more lakes I'll tow it to until dock opens up like Douglas and Norris.

I WILL get some pics uploaded on here ASAP. Thank you for all the replies and well wishes! I am a total forum geek so I will keep this updated the whole way.

I won't get it for a year, but that's to be expected.

X, just a heads up... the upholstery upgrade is not about color. It adds MORE upholstery/cushioning. And, the 3 different vinyl colors are all a "no cost" option - you're simply picking the color you want. Just adding that info in case you didn't know about the upholstery upgrade.

Extra gas usage? Actually, probably not. In most situations you'll use the same, or less, than the 200HP - because you don't have to use as much throttle input. WOT, sure, it will use a little more.

Was a thread about best wax, i said the best is whatever the guy i paying is using. I like the way you think.

Gotcha, and that does make sense with the gas mileage. I chose the white with the dune Infiniti flooring. Brown seadeck on swim platform. Maybe I should have checked that box but I'm sure it's fine, but I need to call about the bow filler cushion which makes a makeshift bed in case we get too trashed or something...NOT drinking and driving. The captain's seat is quite nice and that's the only place I'll ever sit, lol. Like I said I'm coming from a 1900 CC which had only like 2 comfortable seats. Should be fine.

Lol right, I mean this is an expensive hobby. There's just no way getting around it. I will use this boat until it sinks so damn skippy it will stay waxed and polished, but I'm not doing it I'll pay for it. At the ramps I see people loading and unloading 20-30 year old Sea Ray ski boats all the time, another reason I chose SR.

Ahhh. I forgot to order the front bow cushion to make it into a bed. I'm sure they can add that.

Also he tells me (I called today) there will be faux wood Seadeck on the swim platform and first steps in but it's not on my order sheet. However my order sheet isn't "formal" at all, just built from the internet.

I also realized the interior seats are going to be beige which I like even more, but wonder if they get uncomfortably hot.

Our 190 was custom ordered as well. We bought SeaDek throughout the boat, not just the swim platform. After 3 seasons it was the best option we chose. The other "carpet" options are hot and uncomfortable.

The custom upholstery option was the second best option. More comfortable all around. We chose Dune. White is too hard to clean.

We also went with the Outboard model. After 35 years with I/O's I wasn't going with that maintenance nightmare again. I use to spend 3 hours winterizing, now its just 20 minutes. Plus, I'll put my 150 up against your I/O and day. 50 mph and a whiplash start ain't too shabby. Plus, the lack of vibration and smoothness compared to a V6 is an awesome improvement.

Other options you might consider are the digital dash and trailer upgrade. The bow cusion is a waste of money because its too hot up there in the sun to lay down anyway. A full bimini is a necessity.

Good luck with your purchase.

The Infiniti flooring looks just fine and the guy said it's very popular. I like all the extra Seadeck but it's not a neccesity.

Dune is what's on our order. I will ask when I call on Monday about the "extra" upholstery, but like I said the standard captain's seat is pretty epic and that's the only place I'll ever sit. My previous boat had like 2 comfortable seats. Friends would sit on floats laid out toward the front. I'm not worried about comfort. Even just a standard Sea Ray is a damn nice boat.

I just came from one of the best outboards ever made (Yamaha 130) on a 2000lb boat. It ran great but did not go particularly fast. I'll take your bet on racing me with my 4.5 Merc 250 versus the OB version. I/O is more maintenance but I like it better, an outboard hanging off the back of a lake Sea Ray Boat just doesn't look right, no offense. And, uh, more cylinders are better. More power is better. The Merc engine weighs 752lbs-- it's a tank.

Other options you might consider are the digital dash and trailer upgrade. The bow cusion is a waste of money because its too hot up there in the sun to lay down anyway. A full bimini is a necessity.

I found the digital dash a waste of $3,000 and just something to break over time. Tried and true gauges are fine with me. In any case I have the Mercury app that tracks everything digitally on my phone. Fuel use, habits, maintenance alerts, tach, range, everything that goes right to my phone. Clip the phone to the dash you might as well have digital dash. I didn't even realize this was standard, that's a pretty awesome feature.

Full collapsable Bimini top part of order.

Bow cushion turns it into a makeshift bed. I will not drive this thing if I'm drunk and need to sleep it off. It's worth having.

Standard trailer would be fine. You should see the one I've been using for years, lol. I have a Land Cruiser to tow it with, with sway control.

Good luck with your purchase.

It's already bought, but thanks. I'll keep this all updated. I just have to call on Monday and have him order the bow cushion.

Mine was ordered Dune, but today at the last minute, after consideration, I decided on white. It doesn’t look quite as sharp but it won’t be hot. I get hot easily. I would hate to take delivery of this brand new boat and then regret not playing it safe with the white for 20 years. It gets hot here. White still looks plenty nice though:

Most of the differences between our 2 choices are simply personal preference.

You're right about the infinity flooring - its popular because its a lot cheaper. You just better buy good boat shoes because in the sun its hotter than heck. SeaDek is not only cool, but its soft and comfortable on bare feet. Our last boat had infinity and never again.

I won't own a boat without a quality sonar unit and having one built in saved me a lot of trouble. Our "digital dash" was the 5" model that also came with 2 analog gauges and the upgrade was only $1000.

I won't comment about getting drunk on a boat.

LOL everybody drinks on the lake.... I don't even drink per se but I'll drink on the lake. But I don't want any DUIs, my luck I'd get busted. TWRA is ruthless.

Flooring should be fine, it's the seats that I don't want hot.

I should know this, but what exactly does Sonar do? Fishfinder? Map the underwater terrain?

That is not necessary in my case, either. I know the lakes I'll use like the back of my hand, have since I was 7 years old. No problem. I did add the depth finder for 250 bucks.

Fishfinder, chartplotter, GPS, speedometer, water temperature, bottom structure.

I've owned a boat for 53 years and its just unimaginable how awsome the technology has advanced since I had my first green box Lowrance back in 1968.

To me, a digital number gauge is about worthless. If money was a concern I would buy an $89 Humminbird. It shows water depth as well, but you also get a picture, water temp, etc. Once again, we all have our own likes.
