new mercruiser ceramic exhaust manifolds

I just received my brand new mercruier ceramic –manifolds. spacers and risers . The matting surface is painted. I have read a service bulletin from mercusier some time back that stated to leave the paint on for corrosion protection and just check for drips. I have installed Osco manifolds on my last boat and they came with specific instructions to remove the paint on the matting surface. I know I should buy the manual but any help would be appreciated Thanks

Install the Merc exhaust components as-is. Never buy Osco. I did once for my previous boat about 16 years ago. They were a little cheaper in price but tremendously cheaper in quality.

Just to make sure-leave the paint on the matting surface? And btw there is no comparison between Mercrusier manifoilds and Osco (I was selling my last boat is the only reason I used Osco)

I have always left the paint ON with the Mercury silver gaskets.
Worked for many years and 4 different boats so far..
