All,

new to me 350 and I am hoping this is an easy question. How do the cabin blinds stay up? These are the accordion style above the galley and the side bench. I push mine up and they slowly come back down. Is there something that holds them up? I notice a clear plastic tab and I don't know what it does? Thanks in advance!

I think you should have Velcro straps to hold them up. At least that is what we have on our 2008 330DA. The Velcro straps are attached to the head rail of the blinds with a piece coming down from the inboard and outboard sides. Once the accordion blind is pushed up you have to bring the two straps together and Velcro them in place.
Hope this helps you.

That makes sense! I will look next time. I didn't notice the straps but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

I believe the intended mechanism is supposed to stop the blind in any position and hold it. One of mine works and the other doesn't. As soon as my priorities shift, I will be looking into why my one isn't working properly and let you know.

I think the tension is adjusted by sliding the tab at the bottom off of its mount, and then tightening the cord and reattaching.

The Velcro straps work well. We keep them up, until the time outdoor temps rise, then tend to leave them down until fall. Another CSR member, John Burgess, replaced his with wooden blinds, and I thought they looked great, just haven't gotten around to doing mine.

I was wondering that. I made it to the boat today to see how it did in the snow (that is a whole other post!!! :smt013). Anyway, no straps but will try the tension approach. Not sure how exactly. Does the little square piece at the base of the lines pull up?

Hmmm,.... That might be a nice touch if I can't figure it out. I can see keeping them up a bunch but at the slip and while away from the boat, down.

Do not pull up on the clip, instead slide it towards you and it will come off of the base portiion.

There are velcro straps as noted but being velcro they can stick up out of the way and are hard to find sometimes.

Got it to work today. Thank you so much! I would have never figured that out!
