Now that we have one season under our belt, I'm looking for some ideas on improving our 175.
The prop is the one that the dealer installed when I purchased new. Aluminum 3 blade, 14-1/2 x 19. WOT is 4800 rpm. Top speed is around 42 mph. It actually pulls nice and gets on plane quickly. It does slow down a bit with a full load of people, but still not bad.
Using the merc prop worksheet, these are a couple props that come up.
#48-815758A46......High-5...SS....13.25 x 19
#48-825900A48......VenSura, 4 blade .......SS......14 x 19

Descriptions from the website aren't much help.
Of course test driving is the best way to do this, but nobody around here does that. So is there anyone out there that can give me some insight on these 2 options and what/if this will make the boat perform better.
I'm really not in the market to blow $500-600 for minimal improvements, but now in the off season, I can get these props at half price.

I would suggest looking at a 4 blade for best cruise and pulling a skiier. You may want to really consider a solas 4 blade or a large diameter E series (i think) 3 blade. More blade area will help get that boat up and going.
What is the Horsepower in it?
