New to me 1998 215 Express Cruiser

God we are getting another round of flooding rains tonight. Rivers here flooding after 3-5 “ last nite. 2-4 more possible This is really unheard of here. I90 under water on west side of cle made national news.

The plugs are cheapish (for Searay). Get new ones. If you are getting water in the bilge, consider the engine hoses first. Last, you may need to replace those accordion hoses on the outdrive. You can see them with the outdrive up. I was getting water after about 18 years so I had all those hoses and the gimbal bearing replaced. No water after that. No too expensive but needs to be done after a decade or so.

Yes thanks - wow that seems like long time between bellows replacement but good for you. Just had all the bellows done in spring. I’ll be looking close at all the drain plugs and hoses as you mentioned asap.

Another potential source for water intrusion may be the swivel pin. With the boat in the water use a light and perhaps a mirror to examine the top of the inside transom assembly.

Yes thanks. My mech suggested to do exactly that also with a good light and maybe on overcast day or early evening. Will report back.

Try with the engine running. Water will splash around and be more visible.
