Race car drivers and auto aficionados figured out early on that digital readouts were no good for quick glimpses. You don't need to know that the temp is 176.8 degrees; it's enough to see the needle just below the tick mark on the gauge face to know you're okay. Even more to the point, you'll see a lot of race cars with the gauges rotated in all goofy directions, but the needles then all point straight up when they're in their proper running range.Anthony, A little something to consider.....when you have analog gauges a quick scan, even when you're in bumpy water will give you a quick read of the gauge because all you really have to do it look at the position of the needle. When you have digital gauges it takes you a bit longer to read the gauges because you actually have to read the numbers on the gauge.
Yep. One quick look and you everything is "normal."Race car drivers and auto aficionados figured out early on that digital readouts were no good for quick glimpses.
