I just bought a 2005 Sea Ray 200 bowrider. It has a nice anchor locker in the front, but it fills with water. I've looked and don't see a drain hole. I asked the former owner and he just lived with it filling with water. Seems weird that there wouldn't be a drain. Anyone else heard of this? Anyone drilled a drain themselves and if so where?

Thanks!

If it is there (I'd be surprised if it wasn't), you should see an SS clamshell on the outside - on one side or the other. It's not uncommon for them to get clogged, and as long as your anchor locker is relatively clean, it should be quite easy to find it. Afterall, it's a pretty small area that you have to search - it's not like it can hide on you.

If for some reason there is none, adding one is very easy. Drill hole. The clamshell is something Sea Ray adds to divert outside water from entering.

Thanks Dennis. There's definitely not a through hull drain. If there is one it goes to the bilge
HMonarch: There's no drain in the bottom of the locker it would drain into the bilge if it get high enough, but that would leave several inches of water. Does yours drain from the bottom?

I was thinking "cuddy", not bowrider. Yes, often times bowriders do not have overboard drains. But, it should still drain. Probably either underneath the floor and to the bilge, or to either side of the seats and then the bilge. Regardless, it shouldn't fill up. Something is blocking it up. If you can't reach anything with your hand, then just try blasting the area with a hose.

On my 205 Sport, the anchor locker drains down the keel line to the bilge. I would suggest a coat hanger stretched out or perhaps even a metal fish tape (if you can fit it in there) to clear out whatever is plugging it.

Good luck!
