We are getting to know our 1989 220 DA, We have some problems that I'm sure are a easy fix. We can't get our cabin pump to come on, no lights in the cabin ect. It's like there is no power in there? Does the boat have to be hooked up to shore power? Surely not. The bilge has two batteries, one has no ground wire? Anything helps, and thank you.

By cabin pump I'm guessing you are referring to the fresh water pump for water in the galley sink.

Both this and the lights require battery power. I'm guessing that the battery with no ground is the house battery. It would be nice to know why it was disconnected, but hook it up & see what you get.

Not trying to be a wise guy so please dont take this the wrong way... but I assume you have a battery switch and the battery switch set to either "on" or "1/2/both" depending on what kind you have?

Do you have 12v flowing to other stuff, but just not the items you mentioned? Some boats have have a breaker panel or switch panel for cockpit lights, cabin lights, water system etc... Are those all in the correct positions?

Our 87 270 DA has toggle switches/breakers at the helm for cabin lights and cockpit lights. Water system is is on a different panel below the throttles. Those have to be on for the individual lights and pump to operate.

Thank you for your help, we went thru all of our wires, dash panel, bilge etc. Once we started cleaning all the connections, everything started working. We did however have to re wire the pump in front of the aft cabin that sucks up the water because it had very faulty wires. I guess everything was sitting for so long...
