A couple years ago I posted about our boat spewing gas out of the filler when the tank is full because the pump doesn't shut off. I finally got fed up with having to fill the tank slow and try to listen at the filler. I bought a Racor LG100 air/fuel separator which goes in the vent line, this alone did not stop the problem, it only prevents gas spewing out of the vent. I spent another $20 on a Perko inlet check valve, that stops gas coming back up the fill hose. I may have gotten away with just the check valve, but now I am absolutely sure I won't be spewing gas out for any reason. I've filled the tank 4 times at different pumps and now I can hold the gas pump nozzle wide open or lock it on, the nozzle kicks off when the tank is full, no gas spills.
