Hello so I have a 1998 sea Ray 190 cuddy cabin, 4.3 mercrusier. Recently there’s nothing when you turn the key. Battery is Charged, used a test light and I’m not getting any power to the ignition switch. Not sure where to find a good diagram, I downloaded one but it’s missing the 4a which is starting system. And it has some wiring diagrams but I have no idea which engine configuration I have. Serial number on top of the engine is 0L078866
transom serial number is 0L277661
Drive serial number is 0L138759 any helps is appreciated I’m fluent with cars but not boats.

Check the 90 amp fuse on the starter solonoid. If its blown you will have nothing at the ignition switch.

No electrian here. Had same intermittent problem last summer, Turn key, nothing, keep tryin, finally fire, got marine electrian. Replaced switch, nope. Replaced starter solenoid, nope. Found another solenoid under dash. Replaced that too, problem gone.

Three things to check. 1) starter solenoid and fuse. 2) Transmission neutral safety switch. 3) slave solenoid on top of engine.

Hey guys, did you ever heard about some "mercruiser alive wire"? I saw other post with similar issues and that guy was saying his alive wire was disconnected.. Any idea where is it located? Thank you!

Start your own thread and tell us exactly what you have going on and things you have checked. You do have a DVM and know how to use it, right?
