Norcold Fridge Bad Stat

I have Norcold (thermador) DE251E The thermastat went bad Norcold no longer makes the stat their recomendation
was to buy A new Fridge, I can't find the stat on line
I Shouldn't have to buy A new fridge just because the stat went Bad (stays on all the time )the stat part number is
160107210 any ideas??? Thanks in advance Tom

Tom I have the same boat 88 weekender. Two years ago Ihad the same problem. I found a new one and it lasted less than a year. After checking with a norcold tec it was found to have a bad circuit board. They are no longer available. Rather then invest more money in a 23 year old fridge I bit the bullet and bought a new one. If you check a place in florida called fore and aft they had the best price! The new fridge is working very well and is quiteter, fan cooled and external temp w/light. What a crock!

Are you still having a problem? I'm a little late joining some of these forums.

There are simply times one has to get creative and use a little imagination.

There's nothing magical or mystical about a refrigerator thermostat. And just because it happens to be installed in a boat doesn't necessarily mean it MUST be replaced with another thermostat made "specifically" for a boat fridge.....at probably some exhorbitant price.

If you haven't yet done so....remove your old thermostat and find yourself a refrigeration parts supply house in your area. I'm quite sure they can find something that would work for you.

I spent over 30 years in the refrigeration business and have often had to get "creative" when the exact replacement part wasn't available to me.
