Not that I hate the next few months....

I HATE this time of year. Even though not in snow country, its still cold, no boat, too cold to go to pistol range, nothing to do but watch Blue Blood reruns.
Even the bikini thread died 4 days ago. They wrapped in blankets.

Still plenty of heat left in the latex/leather thread on that “other” forum

Feeling a little chilly in the mid 60s but I at least have my interior back

Crazy… my son said they had the overhead doors open and people out on the sidewalk seating at the brewery today in Buffalo. He wasn’t complaining… When we left up there 2 weeks ago we bailed a day early to beat an 8” lake effect event. This time of year it’s back and forth, winter doesn’t usually settle in until the new year

We had crazy weather today. Detroit Metro Airport hit 62°and we had a mini thunderstorm about 3:30. I'll take it considering what's normal. Tomorrow's high will be over 20° colder. Back to reality.
It was in the 50s today in Baltimore. Perfect weather for getting the canvas off the boat and the mooring cover on, in preparation for wrapping next week. Got her winterized last week. It’s only about 3 months til I start making plans to commission, but this time of year stinks. Guess I should spend the next 100 days making some money so I can afford fuel next year.

Someone out there must have bought a new snow blower based on this December we're having (so far)...
I bought an 8’ Myers plow for my Superduty up north and no snow for 3 years. Sold it and we had 2 3’+ storms that winter

Sounds about right. It's like buying a new boat, you have to count on rain every weekend for that first summer :)

Ok, I think I can make it to Jan 1st, but no way in hell until April 1st. Just throwing that out there that I am ready for warm weather already. I'm really not built for the cold anymore.

Look at this way, you get the lost daylight back when it counts.
I got used to the daylight sort of evened out between summer and winter in Florida. It'll be less than 9 hours up here for a few days before the 12/21 turn around. I'm good with it dark at 9pm in the middle of the summer and sunrise at 6. 4th of July fireworks are after 10 pm up here.

WOW!…. What a bunch of whiners. This time of year is to reconnect with family…. Friends and phuckn neighbors. It’s time to focus on work… non boating friends and home contractors.
So far I have spent more money on my newly built house in one month since the boat went into storage …than an entire year on the boat…… I am so looking forward to boating season to save some money

Focus on work? What's that? Not much family left. Neighbors? Hardly see them in the winter. Cabin fever is setting in already. I'm an outside putzer and this time of year...ain't happening.

You bet I'm bitchin. I really thought I would readjust to Michigan after being away for nearly 30 years.... Nope.

I was just talking to my wife about sliding south in the next 5 or so years. Waiting for the bottom to drop a little more on the RE and will start looking a little more seriously. 2-3 months of winter I could probably handle. This 5 months sucks.

I have a buddy I met in the Roush owners club years ago. He moved from upstate New York to Lake Placid FL. I always kid him about not being able to really give up New York by moving to Lake Placid FL. He's never fully adjusted to Florida and his wife died unexpectedly in July. He's struggling with the loss and although he says he's going to stay in Florida I wouldn't be surprised to see him move back north at some point.
I saw a lot of people move to Florida and move out within a couple of years. They just weren't built for the Florida weather. The time of the year Snowbirds never experience. Can't be afraid to sweat cuz you will in the summer.
