Another example of a soft dictatorship. Founding fathers continue to turn over in their graves.

I'm with the Sugar-in-my-Tea Party.

Why not 14 oz or 18 oz ?

"The ban, which could take effect as soon as March, would not apply to diet sodas, fruit juices, dairy-based drinks or alcoholic beverages."

So just get the 20 oz drink and have them add a shot of Vodka all is legal now and you would have alot of fat drunk people :)

I figure they will set up cameras at all the soda fountains and issue $50 tickets to violators.
It seems Mayor Bloomberg has forgotten what a refill is.

So, a 16 oz bottle is okay but perhaps dump it in a 20 oz cup with ice and maybe it's not? This is stupid. Not to mention it seems like the worst places for high fat / calorie foods - McDonald's, BK, etc., usually serve you a cup that you can fill repeatedly. Coming next, the 1 oz refillable cup - for the exercise!

Don't give them any ideas.

What will be next? Anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Well, there goes Ketchup, most salad dressings, he!! 75% of food has it these days. Here's a thought Mr. Bloomberg, use the money you would spend on policing this thing, and fighting it in court on educating the youth of NYC on proper eating habits, oh but wait, they would mean EFFORT, your way is so much easier.

The previous governor of NY tried taxing "sugary drinks" a couple of years ago but couldn't get it passed. The soda industry has deep pockets. If it passes, I would HOPE they would fight it in court - reeks of "unconstitutional." This kinda crap ONLY goes on on the coasts. Unbelievable.
