Sounds like a charger/converter failure to me. If you can test and confirm good AC power the charger/converter you will likely have an answer.Ok, The AC panel is showing 115 volts. Yes, I turned everything off, still no go. I just checked the 30A fuse in the converter itself, its ok. No power issues last night. The battery panel shown is the same as I mine. I too was wondering how to reset the dc breakers at 7 o'clock. The manual for the charger is exactly what I got, and I did read the trouble shooting. I checked the battery connections, actually first thing I did, and they are ok. Neither the pwoer ligght or the status light are lit, nor is there a DC ampreres reading.
Well, now you know! There is AC power to the converter, so that confirms that its bad. Any suggestions on a replacement?
Does any one use a chartplotter on their 280? I've been thinking of getting one but I have no clue of where to mount one. The helm doesn't lend itself to any additional electronics so I'm looking for a bit of advice on what kind is recommended by other 280 owners for our helm.
1st. What make model do you recommend? I boat in the upper Mississippi & Illinois rivers above St. Louis. So, I'm not looking to go to fancy.
2nd. Do you have any picts. of your installation? If so, please post them up.
This setup was on my boat when l bought it so l don't know details of supplier, it has two ball joints that are clamped by a knob, when loosened it can be moved to a multitude of positions. I love its versatility. I would start with an Amazon search or West Marine. Good luck
They are nice, my sister had one...but I like your 280 better! The 2011 280DA is quite a bit smaller than your 280DA. They changed model numbering on these in 2010. In 2009 they built your version of the 280, and also a 270. In 2010, your version of the 280 was discontinued and the 270 was rebadged a 280.This guy came in and tied up next to me last week, new member, another 280, but a 2011. Previous owner neglected it, but you can see a nice boat under the grim. I think 135 hours, single Merc 350.

Wow. Talk about creating confusion out of thin air. There sure are a lot of numbers they could have used when they made those changes: 275, 2750, 271, 279, and on.They are nice, my sister had one...but I like your 280 better! Just like my 44DB used to be a 420DB (changed in 2006)...
Hello all, new issue I’m hoping to get some help on from this helpful group. 2004 Sundancer, 5.0, Bravo III.
Starboard side electric fuel pump will not energize. Wire harness at pump has only 10.5-11v when start switch is activated. At the other end of that harness the connector has 13v.
Bottom line, starboard side does not appear to be providing enough power to energize pump. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. 8 days to launch - I hope Thank you!
- The pump that will not energize on starboard side will energize when connected to harness on port side (which reads 12.5v when activated). So pump appears not to be issue.
- I swapped the wire harness leading to pump and the issue stayed with the starboard engine. So harness appears not to be issue.
- Disconnected, cleaned and reconnected the various connectors
- Also swapped relays between engines and checked fuses, etc. No luck.
Unplugged, measuring at connector"Wire harness at pump has only 10.5-11v when start switch is activated."
Was this part done with the fuel pump connected or unplugged and measuring at the connector?
