Official 290 Sundancer Thread

Magster- how much do you want for it? Where do you store it when not in use and do you have any pics of it in place? Thanks!

I am having an issues with my starboard switch pad on the helm. My windlass, bilge pump and one side of trim tabs is not working. Do I start with replacing the switch pad or should I look at the EIM? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Ron!

Hey Cincy,
I've never had it on the boat so... I think the only place to store it would be the mid cabin. There is no 'place' for it. That also means I don't have any pictures of it. It's a 'fold in half' base with legs and a cushion that sits in front of the rear seat. It probably doubles the pad size or there about. It's kind of heavy so I'm not sure about a distant shipping charge. I'll weigh it and get dimensions.
Any somewhat reasonable offer will work for me Cincy... I'd just like to see it get used.
Cheers :smt001

I can't even imagine or picture what this is? Is it in the parts manual? Does anyone out there have any pics of this item installed?

Here it is in the parts manual. Still debating if that's something we'd use. I wish it was more molded to fit that spot.

Need some help guys. I'm changing the hailing port on my boat since I no longer have any connection to the prior/town where it was and I'm tired of people asking me about it. Unfortunately, I forgot to measure the area and am 2.5 hours from my boat.

Can anyone tell me the dimensions above the shore cord hole and trunk door and also the approximate length of what I have here.

I'm thinking 4 x 28 or so?

Hey Ron, my switches on the consol went all odd on me also. The hatch button got more difficult to press and the windless just wasn't working. My previous mechanic (what a jerk) wanted to replace that entire unit. My new guy said that there was just a wire issue and was not a big deal at all. I am splashing this week and hopfully it all will be working. Do take a look at the wiring before you get all crazy.

Cindy - I am not trying to kill the sale but we have the pad and stand. It is extremely heavy, unruly, and there is absolutely no where to store. That being said - we have a family of 4 and use every possible space on the boat. If it was just the 2 of us - we would store it in the aft cabin. Since the boat didn't come with the bow sun pad - it is a great place to lay out - but a pain to remove the table and put up the pad every time you want to use it.

I weighed it), unruly (disorderly and reckless?) and there is absolutely no where to store (mid-cabin or maybe on top of the gas tank?). That being said - we have a family of 4 and use every possible space on the boat (5 here, that's why I sold... space). If it was just the 2 of us - we would store it in the aft cabin (I've never heard of a Sundancer aft-cabin, it must be very rare). Since the boat didn't come with the bow sun pad - it is a great place to lay out - but a pain to remove the table and put up the pad every time you want to use it (assuming you leave the table up all the time, I didn't).

Here are few pics of my new vessel....

Looking for a cockpit/mooring cover. Any recommendations?

Looks great! I've been wanting a cockpit cover too. What I've found is the Great Lakes version that was an option with the boat snaps to the fiberglass at the base of the windshield. Since I didn't have the option I don't have all those snaps and don't want to add them so I've been wanting one that will snap to the existing snaps on the top of the windshield frame. That will require custom made. I've been quoted around $750 or so but haven't pulled the trigger. It's would probably save wear and tear on the other canvas.

It's 27 lbs. and the stand / pad would fit in a 2' x 3' x 10.5" space for shipping. That's with room to spare.

I wish you were closer. I'd consider it. Also, is it the standard white/ivory color?

$750 is a good price. When I bought mine, the dealer who had one leftover (PO bought it but backed out) said that dealer cost was $1000 - not including install. (Take that for what its worth and however much you trust a dealer to give you his price.) But, it was going to sit on their shelf, so I got it in the deal.

Interesting. yeah the isinglass will start to look pretty bad after a few years in the sun. Though I like to have the cover extend to the front of the window to keep out dirt.

Does anyone have a part# or know where to get a replacement bulb for the 5" spotlight up front?

John - you got too much time on your hands. Thanks for the corrections to my post (Cincy - I am sorry for the mis-read/typo calling you Cindy). What would you call the area with the twin berth - it is an aft cabin. Even if that is not technically correct - that is the best way to describe that space - and certainly something everyone understands and how Sea Ray describes it. I am sure all the readers followed me. You must be a very important person in your "after boating" life . . . keep on posting.
