Official 320 Dancer Thread

Mine works the same way. I have to turn on the Acceccories breaker to operate flip down TV in the aft cabin. I don't recall if the DVD is on the same line, but I guess you need the breaker to be on regardless, in order to watch that TV. This is 12v setup.

The TV by forward berth is 110v and I would think that DVD for that unit is also 110v. See if you can get the aft cabin unit to run and then try the one in forward berth.

BTW, update your signature. It'll help everyone to respond to your posts knowing what config you've got.

Lets review the 12v aft cabin unit. So, are you saying that
- both batteries switches are on (I assume all batteries are good)?
- accessories breaker on the main panel is on?

and it's not working? Does the TV work or is the problem with both to turn on?

tv work fine, all breakers on and everything else works fine

batt switches on, 120 a/c on, just NO power to DVDs (both)
doesn't say "welcome" or accept a disks

I've noticed that the one in the aft cabin doesn't respond well when you press those small buttons. It takes 3-4 times to press on play to get it going. Anyway, my point is to try both clicking the power button and use remote with new batteries (just to make sure) before pulling dvd out looking for loose wires or other fuses in the power line.

I also have a TV/Analoge question. I am not using my antenna at all to get TV channels. I plan to only use the Cable connection in the marina to watch regular TV. Will I need a digital converter on my two TVs? (I have a '06 320 with the 26" and the 15" TVs)

If you are going to use the cable from the marina you will not need the digital boxes. They are required for an “over the air” TV signal using your antenna. When using the cable hookup in the transom make sure you have the antenna amplifier turned to off.

I believe there are splitters located behind the pannel at the back of the cabinet that holds the 15" LCD pull out TV next to the sink. It is a PIA to get back there. I almost started taking the slide out bracket out so I could work.

Thanks for the replies Vince and Eric. I agree that the splitter could be the problem. I just need to find it. I don't have the forward TV as we upgraded to the large LCD so I just have a door and storage in it's place. I'll check what's behind there for the splitter. Sea Ray suggested that it "might be" behind the main breaker panel, but I am reluctant to tear that open unless they are sure.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

I have a 2002 320 Sundancer that has no picture. The TV seems to work as I put a converter in line and get a nice quiet pic when it is on but no signal. I was going to start at the antenna as I have only one TV. Any thoughts on maybe another place to start in stead of clear out at the antenna. Thanks; Larry

Can't Say much bad about the 320, Except that the next boat I get will have a White Hull. Colored Hulls are not made for Anal People like me. If i see one more water spot i will probably lose it.

I have put enough options on mine, it makes it just as good as the bigger boat. The only thing i do not like about the larger sundancers is the depsite the fact the boat is bigger the interior layout is the same except larger.

Fuel Guage Question..

This weekend after filling up my 2005 320, and repeating to my wife how much I love this boat, the port side fuel gauage started acting irradically. As I was crusing it slowing drifted down to empty then would climb back up again. Did this about three times. Ran fine the whole time.
I turned it off and restared it, it was fine then did it again. The next day it didnt do it.

If I didnt know my tank was full, I probably would have been more concerned.

Any ideas on what could have caused it? What should I do to prevent it again? Is it a smartcraft issue?
Thanks guys.

I had the same problem, it's the fuel sender, they are unrealiable at best. It is easy to replace yourself if you buy it from the dealer it's around $100. I took the numbers from the sender, google them, and bought direct from the manufacturer $30. It's a two minute repair.
The fuel levels are always a second check for me. I reset my smart craft "fuel used" that way if i added 100 gals I know I can use at least that amount, remembering the tank wasn't dry before adding gas.

Great, I love easy fixes.
Can you give me a detailed clue on where the fuel sender is?, the part I need to replace? You said you got it from the manuf, do you remember which one. I did a search on iboats.com and they list a few but I want to get the correct one the first time.
I took a look at the parts catalog pdf for the 2005 320 that I down loaded from Sea Ray and cant find it. Is it mounted on the engine or the fuel tank?
Thanks again,

here is the site that makes the sender for the 320 the sender is located on top of the tank ,it's round with several srews holding it down. be careful not to drop any srews into the tank. the sender lifts right out after removeing the screws and 2 wires. 1 wire is the gauge located on the middle post of the sender with a nut and the other is a slide on connector and its the ground. the sender you will get from the manufac has to be cut to fit. its easy just remove the older sender to get the right part nubers then make the new one exactly like the old one. last think cover the sender hole in the take after you take it out (duck tape) as to keeps fumes low. the sender hole leaves the top of the tank open so it's not good to use the boat with the sender removed good luck

Hey Guys,

I went out cruising this past weekend and noticed that my Smartcraft was not showing a mph, the rpm's and all other info was showing fine. Has anyone experienced this problem?

The little wheel on the bottom of the boat may need to be cleaned. You can pull the transducer in the bilge, replace it with the plug to stop the gushing water, clean it, and replace it, or, you can page through your SmartCraft menu to change speed display to GPS and lower the changeover speed to 5 mph (from wheel to GPS).

I've done both. I much prefer the GPS speed. It would be nice to have both to see what the current is doing to you, but the wheel is pretty inaccurate anyway.

Need to install a RPM synchronizer

Does anybody know if it's possible to install an engine synchronizer on 350's mag v drivre. My boat didn't come with one and i spend most of the time looking at the RPM rather than the water.

thanks,
Ben.
