Official 320 Dancer Thread

Debtstar, the helm remote only changes pre-programmed channels. Those must be set up at the head system first. The same is true for am/fm or Sirius.

Debtstar- that really blows that some thing as easy as audio/video hooked up wrong from factory. I agree let dealer fix. Searay being iso 9000 company they have to be notified of the problem and take appropriate steps to avoid future event. I understand human error. I also understand what you paind for the boat. Keep in mind at end of season to write every thing down not right and have dealer fix prior to end of warranty next year. Alot of dollors are set aside for warranty issues. We even had new seat bases sent that looked to have prematurly wore on us. Best of luck, once it is fixed you have one sweeeet boat!

The remote only changes to preset favorites. Makes perfect sense. Thanks! I'd have figured that one out by June or July!

So far, I haven't let any of these punch list items get me down. The test will be dealer performance to resolve them. My last experience (not SR) was poor so I'm looking forward to something much better.

Had my first experience docking in front of a crowd last night. Everyone was there to help -- what a great group of people. I had a bit of beginners luck and slipped it right in the first try. I did cheat a little with the bow thruster. The twins really are more maneuverable than my old single engine boat.

No Sound on Sirius

I haven't checked my iPod connection yet, but today I couldn't get any sound when the Sirius was on (it had been working fine for the last two weeks). When I switch to CD or AM/FM the sound works fine. I called Sirius to see if my programming was the problem and they said on there end everything looked good. I have a call into my SeaRay dealer....but it's a Friday. Any one have any experience with this issue?

Thanks
Jason

Transom door Vibration!
The weekend hit list includes researching how to eliminate the transom door vibration. The culprit is the "Barrel slide bolt" latch.
Has any one replaced this yet with one that does not vibrate with the boat and make noise underway?
Mike

hlrazr,

I'm sitting on the boat listening to Sirius right now so issue is likely local to your setup. Good luck finding the answer!

Formalized my punch list to the dealer today. They asked me to take pictures of various problems and email to them as they need these to make warranty claims with SR. Anyone else have this type of experience?

We had two go rounds with the dealer on inital warranty issues. Natrualy we were part the bame because we did not document the problems well enough. The second time around we took photos and labeled others with taped up notes.
For what we pay for these boats new I ASSumed they would send a warm body down to the boat and document issues them like the pros we bought from. Next boat we will hold dollars back until all warrant issues cleaned up. Good luck and enjoy the tunes.

Mine doesn't make noise, so I'll take a look at it this weekend and let you know why. Just a guess, but the door probably is resting on one of those little rubbery "buttons" when it's closed. I know that is how the transom locker door is kept from rattling.

I know Boaters World sells those things, and most home stores probably do as well.

Ok...finally getting some answers about my Sirius Radio that stopped working. Seems to be the hold up was Clarion - they have admitted that on the CMD4's the Sirius antena has been found to be faulty. They are sending someone out next week to change it. Just an FYI if anyone has a similar problem.

This may explain my issue. I can't get Sirius to work at all.

Yes- Rod holder on transom locker is for the Magma Newport grill. Stores perfect in locker. Mike

Escapade...what brand of rod holder do you use on your transon locker? Do you use the Magma rod holder mount on your grill? Or do you use another mount? Any pics or your grill in the rod holder?

Any problems with hot grease popping our your boat lettering?

The stainless inserts look great on your fridge!!

I know several owners of new 320's have posted here so hope someone can help with a mystery.

I ordered the "game port" option for my kids but so far my dealer can't show me where it is. It appears on the option summary from Sea Ray but we can't find it in any of the logical places.

We have the aft berth pull down TV and the large LCD but deleted the standard TV forward in favor of additional storage. So far, can't find the port.

I also have a problem that I think may be related. The DVD player that should play on the large LCD does not. I'm wondering if the guy who was supposed to install the game port and hook the DVD to the TV was sick that day.

Any ideas?

My punch list is getting long and I'm a little disappointed with Sea Ray's out of the box experience.

Thanks!

Well...I can only tell you where my game port is. But since you don't have the forward (standard) tv I think that might be part of your problem.

My game port is right around the corner from the standard tv. On the port side facing the v berth. It is basically in the same place as the A/C controller and Co2 detector but on the opposite side of the boat.

My guess is that since you didn't get the standard tv they didn't install the game port.

Skolbe,

Thanks again for the heads up on the aux input snafu. Mine was mis-wired from the factory -- just like yours.

Your info saved a lot of time trying to diagnose the problem. I told the tech what you said, he checked that first and found the problem!

Thanks!

No problem - I was irritated so I ripped everything out and started tracing the wiring.

Okay my transmissions say not to pump out through the dipstick - so how do you get anything under the transmission to drain them? My goodness it is tight and it appears it holds 4 plus quarts.

My 250 did that. I put a paper towel in the door for 10 years. On my 340, I have to apply pressure down to get it to latch, so when I release, it holds secure. Consider putting a spacer between the bottom hinge and the boat - this will keep it under a little pressure and stop the vibration.

Also, you could place a couple of rubber stoppers between the jam and the door - probably a better solution, though less permanent.

Not a 320 owner yet

just want to thank everyone that posted on the previous 12 pages. a long read, but a lot of interesting stuff. wife and i looked at a 300, with our '94 rinker fv265 they gave us a final price of $117,000.

we don't like the seating layout and the wife has to have a lounge seat, so the 300 got nixed. looks like the 320 is the only one that has a lounge seat across from the helm. final decision is to hold out and find a good used 320.

thanks again for all the posts.

Does anyone have a redundant gps unit installed in the dash? We want to add one in our 320 in the dash where the smartcraft would go. (we don't have it) Also does anyone know where i could find the dimensions for that panel? I wont be on the boat until Friday and i want to start researching what will fit.
