Official 370 Sundancer thread

Thanks comments, yes I do get occasional teardrop on rudder stock packings but not enough to cause water in bilge. I will check Generator shaft seal and hoses as per your comment.
Don't blv there is any leakage from cockpit drains but will check it out.
Interested to know if anyone experiences sweating condensation in eng' compartment.
I run exh blowers for a while after every engine usage but still get a bit of sweating in comp't even with boat idle at berth for a while, is it normal or anything to be worried about.
John.

Noodles37,
My gage panels are all faded and/or falling apart. I'd be interested to know what material you used for the panels, what you did for the lettering, etc. A picture would be appreciated. They're pricey from Founder Pounder and there was a gut on this thread a few years back that did a few but ripped a few people off, as I understand the story.
flounder pounder....gauges panel is next...did you eventually do yours?

Hi Roch; Panel looks good.
Steering wheel also looks good, assume its a Searay upgrade.
Can you give any details where you got it from/price etc.
Would like to change original standard issue wheel on my 370.
John; Beamsville Ontario.

Thanks Roch; Will check it out.

I am looking to upgrade the documentation I have for my 1995 370. The boat came with minimal documentation (Searay Book, Mercruiser operator manual and that was about it) In particular I am looking for a parts manual for the engines. I bought the Seloc book but that doesn't reference part numbers. Does anyone know where to get these references?

Thanks!

Jim

I'm very curious about your chart plotter. Am I understanding correctly that's an ipad with some sort of frame around it? I've been thinking that there's got to be a way to use an ipad to replace my old chart plotter, but unsure about capabilities and what it would take to integrate with my autopilot and radar dome. Would love to hear more about it!

It is a 12.9 inch iPad Pro. I am running the Navionics app with Em-trak b924 AIS (separate module..I don’t really need it but I wanted it for safety reasons). The mount is a Vida box mount. Below is the link for the mount. I also have a hard wired in 12V charger for the iPad Pro. So far I love it...as far as integrating with auto pilot I am not sure. I do believe you can Wi-Fi NMEA to the Navionics app. Not sure about the radar. But for basic practical purposes it is exactly what I need. I do not do any ocean running just back bay fun on jersey shore. For the same size screen you will pay between $2000 to $3000 for the same size chart plotter in my opinion. The iPad Pro cost me $1200 bucks with cellular capabilities (no need to activate it with cellular) that’s what gives me my GPS. Obviously I can also use it for the web, music and all the other cool stuff a regular iPad does. Just my preference.

I have a bunch of manuals on the boat. I’ll check for you. If I have it I can make a copy and send it to you.

Just bought a 96 370 a few weeks ago and it is our first Sea Ray. Sea Ray Sent me an owners manual and I was also able to download a parts manual. I do not have anything on the merc 7.4 mpi’s Any idea where to go fo that? My main need is I want change out the coolant and need directions

I just hung my 32" tv on bulkhead...I installed a 750w inverter inside helm dash behind radar panel, fished wires thru to Tv (behind TV mounting screws)...clean no wires look. Let me know how you decide to wire your Tv...different ideas are helpful....Upgrades just keep rolling on...

Hi Roch;
Microwave looks good, I bought a new one also, looked good/modern when I fitted it.
I had intended to change out both the microwave and outdated 1980's coffee maker
but it made the coffeemaker look even more outdated, can't find a modern looking coffee maker that fits snugly into the existing opening so took microwave back to shop until I can find a suitable coffee maker. Iv'e seen many photos of 90's Sundancers but they all seem to have the original coffee maker, it dates the boat badly in my opinion. No one seems to have found a good solution to this, only attempt Iv'e seen was somebody just took out the old coffee maker and blanked off the opening which didn't improve the look too much.
If anyone has any better ideas/solutions pls drop a post, wld like to find a nice modern expresso machine or coffeemaker that fits nicely and fills that opening.

See below pic's, sure lot of Sundancer's are with same arrg't, see also where I fitted flat screen t.v. above the half berth on a bracket. Pre'v owner took out the orig' t.v. on Fw'd Bh'd and found a small elec't fireplace to fit in the space, it does gives a nice warm glow on cool nights. Not sure if I like it that much though and might change it for something
else depending what I can find.
Cheers; John.

When checking out a 1995 Sundancer 370 and it has a musty smell inside, what areas should I check for wood rot or issues? The panels in the cabin where the sump is totally dry. When I opened the closet next to the bed and stuck my head in there it was stronger. It's not horrible but it is an obvious smell that is not holding tank. So I'm wondering what should I lift up/take apart, etc to get a good look at any possible problem locations ???

look under the vee berth bed around the water tank.

Don't think I have ever seen an ice maker in the mid cabin hanging locker.......or am I hallucinating?

Yes that's the ice maker below the mirror, works fine but doesn't get used much, I'm thinking of removing it and fitting another small fridge there instead if I can find one to fit.
John.
