Radar Arch Speaker Question

I've seen a couple of your boats with Radar arch mounted speaker cans. Can anyone share both the equipment they went with as well as their schematic (amp installation / wiring / separate volume control?) would like to look into doing this before the season starts.

Thanks!!!

Has anyone had to replace their swim ladder? Is this acquired through SR or can it be purchased through another source? Ours appears to have been damaged by PO (low on our priority list aft purchase of boat). The swin ladder on the '99 370 is under a lift up cover off of the center stern of the swim platform. Thanks for your assistance.

With thanks to Captn Rusty for his guidance, replacement swim ladders can be ordered directly from GG Schmitt - the original manufacture. Our replacement is in route and I look forward to getting it mounted before spring.

Radar Arch Speaker Question

Hello,
I have done some extensive upgrading to the audio system on my vessel over the past couple years. I recently added a pair of JL Marine 6.5's to the transom along with the tweeters connected to a 400x4 JL amp and 10" sub. The sub is located in the stbd. side locker under the bench seat as is teh amp. I can control the transom sound via the separate volume control that exclusively controls these speakers. The actual audio content can be controlled on the platform via the JL marine full functioning remote transom control. This is a cool set up as it gives me control over the cockpit speakers as well as the transom speakers from 1 location.
The reason for me going with the transom speakers, other than wanting really good sound while hanging off the transom in the water at the sandbar etc, is that I looked at using the JL M770 towers mounted to the arch. The main challenge I had was that the stbd speaker was going to interfere with my head while cruising or operating the vessel around the docks. We tried several different mounting points but each of them created what I felt was a problem. This may be a situation that only I have, but I like a free and clear area for viewing when I look while backing etc. The port side would not have been a problem, so it was only the port that I had issues with.

The rest of the cockpit is comprised of 4 JL 6.5's with tweeters and a 10" sub all driven by a JL Marine 700x5 amp. In the cabin we have 4 JL speakers and a 10" sub driven again by a 700x5 amp. The head units are both Kenwood and I have one located at the helm and 1 in the cabin. This allows for me to have 2 zones of music or 1 zone with all 1800 watts cranking it. Every now and then my wife likes to listen to something different down below or to watch tv with the audio through the amp system. Up above I can also have the TV pumped through the audio system as well. As part of the new music system we added a blue tooth wired receiver and hid it under the helm station. Now I can control all the music via bluetooth from my iPhone or iPod. Better yet, I can relinquish DJ duties to a guest on board and let them play their tunes through teh system without having to "Plug in" at either head unit. This has given us a LOT of flexibility with our musical entertainment options.
Lastly I just finished putting blue back lit LED rings on all the speakers. What a GREAT effect during the evening! The 2 LED rings I added to the transom speakers are switched with the underwater lights and the cockpit speakers are switched with the courtesy lights. Fun to install and a great look for the boat during the evening cocktail hour(s). :)
Let us know what you decide and how it works for you!

Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the zincs I need for the 1997 370 dancer? Also what is the prop shaft size? Thanks guys!

I have a 1996 370 Sundancer and the only place that has Zinks are on the transum and the trim tabs. Acording to Sea Ray that is the only ones. So on the Transum it takes a B-12 Hull Plate and the Trim Tabs take an R3 3 3/4" Pancake type. Go to USAzinks.com, that is where I buy from. I think good prices there.

I have a '99 and have zincs on the tabs and transom.

You may want to look at boatzincs.com

They are a CSR sponsor and their contact information is listed in the sponsor tab. I have ordered from them several times with great customer service and pricing.

Check out the usazincs. they have a new alloy tyype goot for all water. I used the hull plate last year and shows little wear but the zincs on the trim tabs only lasted the one season. this year I am putting the new alloy on the trim tabs. longer lasting and basically the same price.

I'll check them out, thanks for the heads up.

Has anyone replaced their cockpit/deck/cabin lights with LED's? Looking for a source with good quality bulbs so I can purchase them all and have color consistency throughout each area.

Also, if anyone has a bulb part number list, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks

I highly recommend marinebeam.com for LED bulbs. I replaced all my interior bulbs, except a fluorescent bulb over the galley. They are not the cheapest, but they are good quality. They have a very good web site for matching bulb numbers, etc.

Thanks for the info guys, appreciate it.

I also had great success with https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/boat-rv-bulbs/
Superbright has a very good bulb matching list for each bulb which makes it easy to replace.

I also used ledwholesalers at Amazon..This is the model I ordered for all of the flat replacements like above the galley sink, the head, above the closets in the forward berth etc...http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009S1DJSC/ref=pe_309540_26725410_item

I ordered this model for the bilge compartment lights and the light under the sink in the cockpit: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0099W8EXU/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item

I ordered these for all the reading lights (6)...https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/boat-rv-bi-pin/white-24hp-led-tower-g4-lamp/1666/

Even though I ordered from different vendors they all matched. I actually ordered 1 of each style to try them out before I ordered the entire set. IE I tried the 15 light and the 36 light tower style for the reading lights and ended up going with the 15 as we felt the 36 led were just too bright.
I hope this helps.

I ordered from marine beam when replacing all of my lights to LED. Had a great experience and really like the new lights.

Looking for a little help locating a light switch assembly for my 370. I am in need of the dual switch plate with 12vdc switches like the one we have in our mid berth or forward stateroom. White plate with white switches that control the lighting in each area...anyone have any suggestions? I have searched the flounder pounder site but to no avail.

Thanks!
Bill

TC have you tried greatlakesskipper.com

I think you just need to buy screen from the hardware store and it gets sandwiched behind the window gasket. Mark

Does anyone know what this broken plastic piece on the hull is - and where I can purchase a new one....maybe in stainless? Thank you.
