Installed. Many thanks to My3sons (Mark) for tolerating my endless questions. The tachs don't have a backlighting connection so I used nylon fastener to maintain their daisy chain connection.

Bill, were you able to program the new digital tachs with the hours that were on your analog ones?

Nope. That isn't supported. I kept the old tachs, wrote the hours on them in Sharpie and storing them on the boat.

I was able to run some tests today with the new tachs. Both engines pegged at 2680rpm with full fuel tanks and a mostly clean bottom. That's with 22.8 pitch props. I did find out the synch gauge is not centered when both engines are at identical rpm. The synch module has an adjustment screw to zero that out. Bad news is it's covered with a red plug and the lip of the plug disintegrated when I tried to pull it out. So I'll have to pick out the rest of the plug.

Doing another turbo rebuild install. Another great job from the guy I use in West Palm. This time he painted it. Silver on the compressor side and black on the turbine side. But I still painted over it to match the engines.

My MAN “man” paints the charge air coolers and turbo outlets with black Imron - everything else with white Imron. After a major service my ER looks like eye candy and none of the hot parts turn brown since they are painted black.

I'm seeing that more on Cummins, also. Black aftercoolers and turbos. Replacement Cummins aftercoolers are black now so some are just leaving them that color.

Fuel curve. How do you figure your fuel curve without fuel flow gauges? I saw a lot of talk about this at the beginning of this thread. 01 450's w/1800 hrs.

19 year old mixing elbow attached to the rebuilt turbo I just installed. Probably time for all of us in salt to get new ones if we already haven't. Just another 15 year life item on a boat.

I’m interested if you get a group buy. The turbo rebuild is in my winter project list so I’ll be inspecting them soon.

Yup, mine looked really bad, similar to the photos. I was leaking through the pinholes.

I went a different direction, and fabricated a dry elbow.

I remember when you did that. Where does your heat exchanger output connect in. I am sure you aren't just dumping that water into the engine room per your picture. Ha!

Haha, yeh that was tack welded to make sure fit was good. The end of the elbos has the shower head and water inlet. Here are a few more pics of the job. So far 100% satisfied

Well, the mixing elbow on the starboard turbo of the boat I just replaced the turbos, sprung a pinhole leak to the outside. Nice fine stream of water spraying all over the aft engine room. So I started the process with Dave at DeAngelo Marine Exhaust in Ft. Lauderdale. As Fernando did, they need me to send them one of the old ones to do the build from. I'm getting at least 4 right now (2 for me and 2 for the boat I just worked on). If any of you want in now, he's talking volume price break with me (not sure how much, yet). I'm sending him the leaking one tomorrow and he's talking 8-10 turnaround on new ones. I'd figure two weeks with shipping and all.

ZZ13....Is this a situation where I would have to remove my elbow and send to him too, or since we have the same engines, would it be safe to assume interchangeable?

He should just need the one. I'll post back here after he gets it and chats with me about it.
