I know there are other threads about low oil pressure but couldnt find one similar to my recent issue. Took the boat out Friday, its a 2005 260 Sundancer with a 350 MPI coupled to a Merc Bravo 3. Cranked up and oil pressure about 50, checked fluids prior to start up and all good. Idled out to the pass and up on plane at about 4000rpm oil pressure good again 52-55. Ran out into the Gulf and along Shell Island for 5 minutes and came off plane looking at Dolphins. Turned it off and cranked it up a few times, oil pressure good. Decided to make a 14 mile run over to Crooked Island and about 5 minutes into the run at around 4000rpms alarm goes off showing low oil pressure and Smart electrical gauge showing oil pressure at about 20. Shut it down, check oil level and its full. Crank it up and oil oressure good. Cancel long run and stayed in the bay. Ran it at 1200-2500 rpms just cruising around and no oil pressure issues or alarms. 2-3 hours of putting around and no oil pressure issues. At the end of the day make a run back to the marina, running 4000rpms for a few minutes and a repeat of alarm and low oil pressure. Pulled back throttle to 1200 rpms and after a minute oil pressure on gauge back to 50s and alarm goes off. Idled back to marina and called it a day.
