Ok so what do you all think?
Add the stripe or go without?

I had a 1998 250 da it had the stripes but with a goofy graphic. I say yes to the boot stripe but no if you want to add the graphic. IMO

I personally like the stripe! Maybe a bit higher on the hull and more above the water line?

The stripe is a class detail. When I repaint my bottom, it stays. You do what you want, and what pleases you most.

So far the stripe is winning this one. I cannot make up my mind. Thought I wanted a boot stripe until I got it on one side and then questioned it.
Keep your thoughts coming.
Thanks,
Bob

Looked at your pics several times and for some reason, just didn't get that warm fuzzy (on the stripes) either way. Then it hit me, may be the money would be better spent on a longer trailer.
Is it just me or an optical illusion.

The trailer was built for the boat but, yes in these pictures the boat does need to move forward on the trailer. Good eye!

I always like the boot stripe. I can tell if my boat is sitting in the water level and how much load is in it. It also provides an area that is easy to clean between the bottom paint and white hull, Mike.

As someone else said, "boot stripe is class"..........if you really want to improve the look, remove that outdated "Sundancer" logo on the arch, I did and I swear the boat is bigger now.

Another vote in favor of the boot stripe. As noted, the stripe gives you a visual reference to the water level. It may not be exactly parallel to the water line but over time you will know what is normal for your boat. I could always tell how the load was distributed in my 280 by looking at the boot stripe.

leave an inch of fiberglass, then go with a solid 2" bootstripe. Not that a boot with pinstripe above and below. Less is more - my personal opinion.

Boats look longer with the stripes, and that is by design. Your eye is drawn to the continuous unbroken line that is the stripe and it gives the illusion of length.

+10 on keeping a stripe!!!!!!
