Hello to all new and old members!
After moving to the USA a year ago, I finally took some courage and bought a 2008 Sea Ray 260 Sundancer... the only detail is that I did it via eBay. Am I nuts? Probably... I didn´t even check the boat, just bought it an hour ago, so looking forward to go inspect my new baby at Toms River, NJ. Any recommendations here?
Is it common to buy that stuff online, or am I the first schmuck to do so? I´m counting on eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection in case of transaction fraud, title problem, liens, and undisclosed engine, body, transmission, and/or frame damage at the time of purchase that will cost more than $1,000 to repair.
So assuming all goes well this week with inspection and paperwork, insurance, what do I do next? I´m a CT resident, so I guess I have to transfer to my name and register at the CT DMV? Any ideas about marina space? I heard that Darien´s public marina has a 3 year waiting list
Any words from the wise will be well received.... thanks in advance!
Anyways, pleasure to be part of this community, and looking forward to take my wife and kids to go for a ride in the Long Island Sound before this summer is over.
Regards,
Pontevedra
