in Mass. could make the argument that the law they pushed for in 2004, to keep Romney from naming an interim replacement for Kerry when he was running for President- should now be changed; since it currently suits THEIR needs. Of course, Kerry's the ringleader on this one...

You can't change STUPID.

Sure they can, they 'changed' everything else for us...

We can’t go under represented for 5 months, Sen. Kennedy’s passing was unexpected (Sarcasm)

Since the letter was WRITTEN by Kennedy prior to his death, I think it should be void!

How could you ever replace the GIANT that was Edward Kennedy. The man, the myth, the LEGEND. I'd type some more but I'm crying all over my keyboard just thinking about this tragic loss to mankind.

Remember Mass residents, "together we can" screw up this state even more.

I saw a great bumper sticker on my way into Boston this morning. It Read; I'll keep my guns, money, and freedom. You can keep the "change."

Kennedy pushed for the 2004 change and he was pushing for it to be changed back again before he died. The day he died, I was walking though the cafe at the office and saw on the big screen TVs the news report. Walked into my early morning meeting and said to a couple of guys I know, "Ted Kennedy died. I guess hell is hotter today by one more." Every time someone mentions his name, I can't help wondering if it's hot enough for him down there. If anyone has read Dante's Divine Comedy, I'm guessing Ted is a solid 9 on the inferno scale.Below is an easy reference for those you might have missed your literature classes.

Ha! I found it.

"I don’t know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquiddick itself. And he would ask people, “have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?” That is just the most amazing thing. It’s not that he didn’t feel remorse about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, but that he still always saw the other side of everything and the ridiculous side of things, too."

Linkypoo

sadly, i had heard that one. i guess him "diving" to save herwas the biggest joke of all.
saw the other side...the living side? Mary Jo saw the "other" side because of that c.s.er.
Mary jo didn't drown though. she died it would seem of overexposure.
wait a week? nope.one less mutt in this world. a family of scum just got smaller.one more skank rotting in hell .ah well, the fruit doesn't fall far from the scumbag, right?

Massachusetts House Approves Amendment To Appoint Interim Kennedy Successor

Kris Alingod - AHN Contributor
Boston, MA (AHN) - The Massachusetts House of Representatives voted Thursday night to approve a bill amending the state's election law so Gov. Deval Patrick can appoint an interim replacement for Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate. Final passage of the measure still requires approval of the state Senate, where Republicans have vowed to block it.
The state House voted 95-58 to give allow an interim appointment to the seat in the months before the special election, a request Kennedy made in his final days.
The power of the governor to make such appointments was taken away in 2004, when state Democrats passed an amendment to keep then-Gov. Mitt Romney from appointing a Republican for the seat of Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), who eventually lost the presidential election and remained in the U.S. Senate.

Most of my family agreed with this change in 2004, they said the Gov shouldn't have that kid of power, fast forward to today and they now say it's what Ted Kennedy wanted..:smt021

BOSTON - The governor of Massachusetts said Friday that President Barack Obama had personally talked to him about changing the state's Senate succession law, and White House aides were pushing for him to gain the power to temporarily replace the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy amid the administration's health care push.
A month after a White House spokesman labeled the issue a state matter, Gov. Deval Patrick said he and Obama spoke about changing the law as they both attended Kennedy's funeral in Boston last month.
He also said White House aides have been in contact frequently ever since and pushing for the change so they can regain control of 60 seats in the U.S. Senate. That would give the Democrats enough votes to overcome Republican efforts to use Senate rules to block the legislation from coming to a final vote.
