Evening all,

A complete newbie here from Sydney Australia with about 3 weeks under my belt as an owner of a 2007 290\325 DA so be gentle with me :)

Hopefully a simple question for you experienced owners. I cant get my windlass\anchor to work. On my helm I have the up\down button and also another button above it which has an LED but I cant get the LED to light up on the other button (not sure what it does but assume its to turn windlass function on?).

Should functionality be as simple as pushing the buttons in some combo?

Thanks
S.

My boat is older, but it takes a switch to turn power on to the windlass. On my 380, there is a red resettable breaker in e engine room, maybe that tripped at some point?

but yes, once you get it to work, it’s as simple as making the anchor go up and down. When retrieving, use the engines of the boat to go forward (slowly) so the windlass is just pulling the loose rode and not the weight of the boat against the current/wind.....

Not sure if the wind and current When you do use it, but use plenty of scope, I am in a lake with little wind/current and usually go 2 or 3:1

Recommendations seem to be 5:1 or 7:1

Thanks Chris. I’ll check the breakers tomorrow. I’m not getting blue leds lighting up so you might be on to something.

Not likely to use it much as the waterways around Sydney have plenty of moorings but want it to work obviously for safety in case of engine issues.

Mine has a breaker in engine room and it does trip once in a while and the indicator light wont light up when breaker is tripped.
