Hopefully I will have a 2002 Sundancer 380 within a couple of weeks and I KNOW I wil have questions. I have already learned much just from the Sea Ray forum in general, but I am pretty sure I will have some specific 380 questions. So I am looking to meet some other 380 members here.

Thanks

Howard

We've had a 380 Sundancer for 4 years now, love the boat, would be happy to try and answer any questions you may have.

Good luck and congrats on the new boat.

Gas or Diesel powered? I've only had mine for 8 months but if there's anything I can help with, I will. Heck, I might learn from your questions as well!

Gas 8.1s, 370-375 horsepower engines. I can never get it straight whether they are 370 or 375 horsepower. Not that it matters, maybe it matters when looking for parts.

And for the others who have replied like I state previously I am sure I will have some questions along the way and thanks for replying.

I had 2002 380DA with the 8.1s 370HP Motors. I owned the boat for two seasons and made a few mods along the way. IMHO, the best mod to make specific to the 2002 model year 380DA with the 8.1s is to add a smartcraft display. The motors are smartcraft ready, but SR didn't go full electronic guages until 2003 on the 380DA. You won't get ALL the features of the smartcraft from the factory (unless you add all sensors...and not really worth the effort) but you will get some of the more crucial, like RPMs for when those standard tachs start to goof around, synchronization, oil psi, etc, etc.....and to me, and most now, the most important....you will get GPH so you can monitor your fuel consumption. I was able to buy all the parts I needed on ebay for under $800 two years ago. I posted the entire install on the old SRO site, but my log book for my 380DA got lost during a remodel on my home....so my details are limited.

Good luck with the boat, it is a great boat, albiet, a little thirsty with the fuel....
