Overspeed Board Westerbeke

So a long road to get my 7.0 BCGB Westerbeke Genny running again. Ended up being bad valves so the head came out and added a whole list of very expensive parts to the genny while she was apart. Back together and running better than ever aside from shutting down after running a minute. We eliminated all of the safety switches one by one and it is looking like the overspeed board 043836 is bad. Right now they are saying fall at best for a new one. Any thoughts on finding new,used or having board repaired to save the season would be appreciated!!

Have you tried Broward Armature (a sponsor here)? I've used them a few times with good results.

If that doesn't work out, this may be a long shot but the two caps in with the armature regulate the output voltage and freq. If you can't get another board then replacing those may help.

Did you test the overspeed board to confirm it has failed? The procedure is in the manual and is fairly easy to do with a couple of jumper wires. Does the unit shut down as soon as you let go of the preheat switch or will it run for about a minute prior to shutting down?

Board is not available anywhere and company I spoke to in Canada says they have been on back order since 2021
We tested the board by jumping wires and confirmed that test by ohm testing the board out of the boat. Genny only runs with preheat held due to the fuel pump being shut down by the bad board. We are looking into electrical supply houses now to see if we can rebuild the board and put this mess behind us ....Thanks for all the replies
