Painting bilge hardware?

It won't harm the bronze, but think this through fully before you do. Currently, the greenish patina that forms on the bronze actually serves to protect it. It's called verdigris. To do a good paint job (one that will last so that you aren't constantly doing touch up jobs), you know the old saying of "a good job is all in the prep work". Given the locations of the seacocks and the intricacies of their shape, it's going to be A LOT of work to make it look nice. If you don't do a near perfect job, the end result (peeling/chipping paint) will likely look worse then leaving it au naturale. But, hey... I can't see it from my boat! :)

I’m sure I see why would you want to? Seems like bronze hardware is corrosion resistant. Seeing the metal help Identity any issues. If you don’t like the green patina you can scrub it a bit.
