Painting the transducer

I have a 2002 Sundancer 380. Just applied a coat of bottom paint. How do you clean transducer and should I paint the transducer with bottom paint. It appears it was already painted with bottom paint by previous owner.

Don't paint with hull bottom paint. That will cause interference with the signal. There is a transducer bottom paint. It comes in a small bottle much like car touch up. I have some I have been using for a couple years now. Sorry I don't recall the name. I was recently in the local West Marine and saw they had it in stock.
