Part name

I’m looking for the name of the part on the shift linkage that helps shift into forward or reverse? I think it temporarily stalls the motor to shift into gear? And is there a wiring diagram? Inboard SBC 350.

Switch is on the shift plate on engine. What's there now? Not purple sorry, should be green/white and shorts to black.

It’s all there just the wires are not connected to anything.

So you have a switch and the wires are just dangling? Your making this tough with out being more descriptive.

Yes the switch is attached to the shift plate. The wires are are not attached to anything they are just capped off. I’m trying to hook it up but don’t know where the wires go. Sorry I’m at work and don’t have a picture to provide.

Basically it grounds to the negative side of the coil
