Phase I was completed last year (http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/66004-Save-your-transmission-modifications ) and everything was done in preparation for what was just finished in this upgrade. Basically, for this phase I gutted all of the original Raytheon navigation electronics and installed a complete Garmin suite to include: HD Open Array Radar, Reactor Autopilot, GPS Map 7612xsv MFD, 19x GPS Antenna, and Chart Package. This was probably the most intrusive modification the boat has ever seen; I had to almost completely disassemble the boat at one time of another. And, the task of building the electronics pod for the helm so the large screen display can be installed was all time consuming; from building a plug, to a mold, to the final part a test of fortitude. YouTube was my best friend on the fiberglass work, BTW. So I'm glad it's just about done and will be ready for this next year's treks to the Abaco and Eleutheran areas. Phase III next year? - Floscan NMEA2000 fuel flow system. Oh, and a big thanks to Rusty Higgins on the help with the Gelcoat color match!

I just saw that the Noland RS11 reportedly can run two engines now. Any thoughts on this? Given the sub $1000 price range for two plus backbone items it might just be worth me rigging something up to m Garmin 4208

Looks great is the "pod" hinged so to access the units? Can you see the rocker switches? Or have to peek over the pod?

Thanks for the complements - There was a lot of other work done also while the boat was in pieces. K9medic - I like the Noland products except for their temperature thermistor linearization. I haven't checked in several months so hopefully they have some firmware upgrades that allow curves to be programmed in. Havana - The pod is firmly fixed to the helm; to access underneath, the MFD needs to be pulled which is four screws or from the door under the helm. Sitting down I can see the tops of the switches which seems to be good enough for me; it's the trade for having the large display and providing for full swing of the throttles and shifters.
