Hi All, I look forward to tapping in to all the knowledge here in this forum!

Not new to boats, but new to SeaRay.. Just picked up a 1989 Weekender 230, been in storage since 1999, only 127 hours on its Merc 5.7/Alpha.. and it shows... the drive is factory white, something searay did as an option in 1988/89 (from what ive read)

did a water test yesterday (photo attached), it runs great.. needs a few adjustments.. and LOTS of cleaning/detailing

It's been in storage for 20 years? If so, go over the engine real good. Make sure all the hoses are good and not dry rotted or anything. Check the fuel. Boats really aren't ment to sit -- they are ment to be used and maintained. Pic looks good. Good luck.

Yep. Thats already been done. Belts, hoses, new carb, plugs, wires.

runs like a top, my last boat was/is a 1973 Grew. So im used to dealing with oldies. Lol

Welcome and nice boat.

Post up some additional pictures of the insides.

Does that year model have the furry headliner?

Will do as soon as this rain lets up... hoping this afternoon i can start a deep clean and get ready for a weekend on the bay.

its sorta furry i guess? reminds me of the bench seats in an 80's buick. lol

You’re lucky to find a nice one. There aren’t many in this market.

Yeah.. it was real lucky.. I heard about it a few years ago.

Its a one owner boat, my nieghbours father.. he passed away, and its been shrink wrapped since 1999... last year my neighbour had it all gone over, as he planned to use it... he told me if he ever sold, that I would have first kick at the cat.

he didnt disappoint, and sold it to me for a song. i know the marina offered him a lot more than i paid for it.

its a diamond in the rough... this year ill be trailering it in on weekends so i can spend my evenings cleaning, restoring and outfitting it... mechanically its near perfect... i can can concentrate on the details :)

Congrats on your new to you boat. Would love to see more pictures when you get an opportunity. Classic Searay lines!
