Nice boat!! How do you get in the engine compartment? Are there more access panels than shown?

The seat cusion next to the engine box is removable. That gives you access to the batteries as well as the port side of the engine. There is an access door in the floor of the walk through that opens also.

Sweet! That should make plug changes a lot easier.

Awesome looking rig!!

Seriously tight in the engine compartment...

What's her dry weight?

Looks very nice!

That 496 engine how does that compare to the 5.0L?

That is a very tight engine compartment I thought mine was tite on my 240 but wow.

Hard to believe that's a 260 it doesn't look any bigger then my 240

Most online picture of the 260 Sundeck do not represent how massive it is. The picture next to the house serves it's justice. Nice Boat.

unlvrebel - The dry weight is just under 5000#. I ran the boat and trailer across the scale and it came in just over 6500#.

Morpheus - My last boat had a 5.0 L. The 496 has a ton more power. Even in this heavy of a boat you can feel the power. I will get a beter feel here soon. The only time I have had it in the water was when I picked it up. The 260 is the same length as the 240. The difference is in the height. I am not sure if the exact height difference but if you set them side by side you can see it. The 260 is a lot deeper than the 240.

Sweet looking boat. I love the look and you cant go wrong with that engine package...

It is my understanding other than a higher freeboard on the 260 the specs are the same on the 240 and 260. SR came out with 260 because they would not put a big block in the 240.

chuck1 - That is exactly what the factory rep said. I also think the name change is to keep up with the Jones's. The higher freeboard was the decision maker for us. Our local dealer seems a bit disheartened by the introduction of the 260. They move the 240's really well and they still have 1 of the 2 260's they bought last year. I guess that is part of the reason I got the deal I did.
