At the top of my list is wifi as well, we are subject to using the boat as our office. In fact, we are renaming it "The Office".
We've already ripped out all the old AV stuff and are figuring out the best solutions. Thinking fold down smart TV that we can use as a dual pc monitor in addition to AV.

The day before we left NC we replaced the fridge and installed a 2 zone BT reciever and pyle marine speakers. The boys had to have music for the way down...

Currently researching wifi or cell based monitoring system for electrical, water, and cctv. Wonder if we would get an insurance break with that.

I finally got all of my templates made for our Corinthian Marine flooring order and sent them out early last week. We also have a carpenter building us new teak tables for the cockpit and the flybridge. I pulled all of the exterior seating and trim out three weeks ago and got them to the upholstery shop. I also put some new LED lights in the spoiler. Next up is a new Fusion head unit, three remotes and speakers. Crossing my fingers the pimping should be done by the middle of March

1. Watermaker - long hot showers in the mornings and unlimited rinse water on the swim platform is huge for that chick that lets me hang around her - triple bonus points.
2. Isotherm Clear Ice Maker - I can't tell ya how important real cocktail ice is in the Bahamas. Major points here also.
3. Luxury mattress in the staterooms. No further explanation required...
4. Good tunes and access to the good tunes...

Not trying to wish anyone bad luck, but bench test the fusion before installing. When I did the AV755 two years ago I went through three before getting one that worked completely. The first was DOA right of the box, and the second had a non functioning DVD player. Fusion/Garmin was good about replacing them. The first they sent a new one before getting the old one back by Fedex so I could return the DOA in the replacement's packaging. The second one they let me send back at the end of the season as we don't watch DVDs that often.

Well today I added a WiFi system with pepwave and 4g LTE switch over. Very happy with the results. Now all devices on the boat connect to tHe boats own WiFi and the pepwave connected to either WiFi or LTE.

Wow, That is a clean installation. Very nice pimp!
The wife and I started a list of all the personalization to do on the 506 we are buying. Boy am I glad that it is all DIY stuff. All new switch plates, Light bezels ( we both hate the fake gold look) going to swap all with brushed SS. Remove all drapery and replace all Venetian blinds with fabric day/night shades. The list is quite long and pics will be forthcoming. Looks like we will close this week.
Carpe Diem

Good advice! A buddy just installed an AV 755 and the blue tooth only worked 1/4 of the time. He replaced it once so far and its been working for a couple of weeks so far. I installed one on the 44DB and was pretty happy with it but the BT was finicky, not enough to mess with getting a replacement though.

Kinda boring but let’s see.

Added 2 Garmin 8612’s and a Fantom 24 radar.

Thank you for the advice! I bench tested the head unit and installed it today. Works great!

Trash can relocated under wet bar. And a larger one, at that. Why do boat manufacturers always put such small trash cans?

The new steering wheel from FP Marine. I gifted the old wheel to my new neighbor at the marina who has a vintage Sea Ray 430 DB.

This is the only mention of Mente Marine that search turns up on CSR. Since this thread is a few years old, how has your experience been? Seriously considering the Mente controller to oversee my Bennetts.

8’6” beam and 21 degree dead rise has one hand on the tabs all too often.

It was initially calibrated and seemed to work fine. Just set it to auto mode and fogedaboudit. However, I added davits to my swim platform, and lifted up my dinghy. Now I need to recalibrate. You may also need to recalibrate depending on where your cousin, Big Bertha likes to sit.

That’s part of the reason we don’t bring anyone else on the boat :D

how hard is the recalibration procedure?
