Pizza thread

I'm not one to have something as sweet as pineapple on my pizza. Definitely a meat-lover's aficionado, or, as I refer to them; "Carnivore Special".
I've gotten attached to Papa Murphy's Chicken and Garlic with white sauce. I know not traditional marinara sauce, but they're sure good!

Admiral does cheese pizza — doesn’t like the meats.

Nothing beats a good old Lou Malnaties from Chicago. Our usual go to is a local joint that’s been around for years. Nice thin crust, half sausage half cheese.
I like Lou Malnaties but Piquads is my fav in Chicago,

no matter where I go, I love the ol PMS, pepperoni Mushroom and sausage, and when you say give me a pms, the look on the lady’s face taking the order is fun

Chicago does have some good Pizza, I love the deep dish pizza stacked with all of the meat and cheese.

Get a group together and everyone pitches in with their favorite suggestions... you get peperoni, supreme, maybe a ham and pineapple, and I always order meat lovers. It never fails, the meat lovers is the first to be gone.

I fully agree the meat lovers and pepperoni disappear first and the supremes sit and get cold...

I’ve tried a lot of different pizza but nothing compares to my wife’s homemade pizza. She even makes an awesome homemade pizza on the Magma grill on the boat.

I agree, i don't like supreme, and most people that do, will go after the meat or PMS first, and take very little of the supreme. When i order for large groups, i slack on the supreme, and they still have some left afterwards...

By the looks of it spring can not come soon enough. ;)
Ya… asking what and where the best pizza is ..is like asking where’s the best place to keep your portable generator…. There is just no wrong answer :)

Red's Savoy House Special in MN. Too bad they closed the original in St. Paul down. On the weekends, you'd order your pizza while standing at the bar, get seated about 20 mins later, then your pizza would show up. Now it's become a local chain. Still good tho. Cut in squares.

Almost any Pilsner in a pitcher.

That is some scary stuff right there! How far have people gone to do the "right" wrong thing ...
The picture of the one in the bilge is the most scary of all and hope that is only for storage ...

I always heard that there was someone who ordered thin crust Malnatis, but I thought it was just a rumor.

Long Island has some great pizza - so a basic cheese slice is wonderful in it’s simple good quality. Dominos, etc - not so much. I’ve found a steep decline in what I consider good pizza as you move out of the metro NY area. Even where my family lives outside Hartford has some suspect pizza. Same with bagels.

I have a variety of favorites. Sausage slice; bbq chicken; fresh mozzarella prosciutto arugula with balsamic glaze; white slice (no sauce, mozzarella with garlic ricotta)

I do also like sausage onion and anchovies.

We use to have a bread maker which I used to make just about everything else other than traditional bread. One that was a big hit was a pizza dough that had some dill in it. When my oldest was in her mid-teens, my wife piped up "Can you make some of that dill dough for the pizza tonight?" I thought my daughter was going to choke on her tongue and/or wet her pants! The worst part was having to explain to my wife just what it was she'd asked for.

"So, sitting at corner bar" - I thought there was a joke coming :)

Cheese, peperoni and green pepper - New York Style

Meat lovers, maybe double meat!
That's what she said...

Ok but what is the best ice cold beer to go with that pie ?
Stella, hands down

We avoided a local dive sports bar for many years. One night we were desperate, ordered a pizza, and Holy Sh*@t, best we ever had. Get one all the time now and they just made the top 10 list in our city. Nothing better than walking in, they know our order, pour us 2 drinks while we wait, talk to the locals.
