Sheesh, are you actually getting money via that link? What a wild concept. Crowdfunding for hobbies...love it.

Interesting, the link is gone, it was in his post. No one had donated yet, but I am sure someone would. Heck, no harm in asking I guess.

Does that mean the "Dream" is gone?;)

Frankly I'm sick of people asking for money to do things they can't afford. Once upon a time that meant you worked two jobs to buy what you wanted or you bought an older version and fixed it yourself.

The thought that people would actually fund this "lifestyle" is disturbing based on most of these are complete scams.

Now.....get off my lawn.

So you're saying I can't count on you to throw some cash toward my future 480DA gofundme? Sad...

:)

Found the link in my browser history - still $0 contributed. I guess good for him in having the guts to just ask for money like that, I guess we can choose to give or not. He would probably make more $$ if he started a youtube channel and filmed his progress.
I have to go back to my job - you know the one where I shower every morning, get dressed in real cloths and go to a place with a sign out front and do work during the day - that's called a company and they have these places called offices where people come to talk and meet with each other (face to face) and do work things - we get a paycheck for it - sometimes really big paychecks. I can work at home some if I want, and sometimes I do, but I prefer to be around other people doing the same things I do, that's called collaboration and we get a lot of things done that way - working as a team.

Then I can use my paycheck to buy things I need and want like food, a house, car, boat all kinds of things, I could even give my paycheck to strangers asking for money on the internet, but I don't want to, it's my paycheck, I worked for it -- that way I don't have to ask for donations from strangers.

Oh what a world we are living in!

Must be a millenial:rolleyes:

What happened to your fund me link? You'll find that most on here are not into this type of thing, but that doesn't mean we are not interested in your boat project, just don't expect financial support. Most of us have our own boating addictions that cost too much $$ to help you. But seriously, you should start making videos of your work and start a youtube channel, I bet you will make more money that way. The picture on your fundme link looked pretty rough, you have a lot of work to do.

Why didn’t I think of this when I realized I needed a new bravo drive?

And why did it show up in recent postings since the last post was in July? Bot bump?

Careful with that broad brush, might get some on yourself :p

Maybe.....but CSR is a tough crowd. It is like walking into a biker bar and expecting them to buy you a drink.

Most of us have worked to get what we have so giving money away to someone to "chase their dreams" is generally reserved for wives and girlfriends.

I was being a little facetious. For some reason, this post reminded me of that couple who are asking for money for their sailboat that they ran aground.
