It's rare that somebody solidly blows away expectations but that happened with oil analysis that Blackstone did. First, they sent me three tidy sample jars and mail kits at no cost. It took 4 days to get them. I sent the samples in for 2 engines and genset. $22.50 each plus $7 to mail them to Blackstone. I sent them to them on Friday and today, Wednesday, I received the analysis back. I thought it would take a few weeks. In addition to the raw data a very nice unique summary is written for each sample. Just solid good work for a fair price returned in a timely manner.

No problems and I'll start the analysis as a part of the annual service.

I have zero tie in interest to Blackstone. I've never used them before or talked to anyone there.

Ringpower Cat is only 14.00 with no mailing fee. They have done a good job for me. I think oil analysis is the same no matter what kind of engine.
Not to tread on your guy but that seems a little expensive.
You doin OK Tom?

The thing about Caterpillar's SOS system is, if you have Cat engines, they know the specific metalurgy for each engine type and that enables them to precisely advice you on what is going on in your engine baased on their findings.

Jack,

Doing well and I hope you are too. Back in CO with the tribe for the holiday.

I have had so many sketch service type experiences lately that I'm delighted when somebody does what they say they are going to do ahead of schedule.

Take care,
Tom
