Wow that sounds like it would be fun.

Apparently no one participated!! Where is McCoys Marina? We haven't been on Lake Roosevelt for a few years. Might have to head that direction again.

We were at Buttonhook Bay, our usual spot. The weather was great and we had a blast.

McCoys is staight west of Porcupine Bay on the spokane river. It is a little marina located on the indian side of the river. The advertise it as the biggest poker run in the northwest. The had over 900 entries and over 150 boats at the bbq at the end of the run. It made for a pretty fun day.

Wow, 900 folks! That's a lot of poker and a lot of running around! That is a big event. I've never even heard of it, but it sounds like fun. It must take a while just to get people on and off the docks to pick up their cards too! Did you participate as well?

I do know where that is, but never paid much attention to it! We even used to visit a cabin near there and have camped at the Porcupine docks and looked over at it!

Yes, I did participate in the event and what pretty neat. After we spent the afternoon boating around the lake drawing cards we enjoyed the included BBQ and even a neat t-shirt. I counted 147 boats on the beach or anchored up close to the beach right before the BBQ. the winning hand was worth $1500.00 it took 4 kings and a ace kicker..... All i had was 2's and 3's :smt089

Still a fun time....

On a seperate note, which body of water is Buttonhook Bay on?

Buttonhook Bay is at the south end of Lake Pend Oreille. It's a secluded circular bay with free dockspace for about 20 to 30 boats. It's also a great place to set an anchor for the day or evening and is protected from the wind and waves. It's a great place to play, swim and hang out with other boaters. You'll find sailboats, tugs and all sorts of boats showing up to spend the night. We only have space issues the weekend the Spokane Yacht Club or the LPO Yacht Club shows up. There are real flush toilets at the top of the hill and an small island the kids like to explore.

There is a great swimming beach a half mile away, trails for hiking and it's probably my favorite of all the lakes around Spokane.

We buy an annual pass for $25 that allows us to launch all year long and leave our truck and trailer at the launch.
It's a great place!! Go check it out! Just don't tell anybody else about it!!! :smt018
