Port engine cuts off

Driving along idle speed and port engine just shuts off. Can't restart. I get no beep when I press the port engine rocker switch. Was running fine. Any ideas?

If you were at idle, very well could be the idle air controller. Try nudging the throttle slightly and see if that keeps her running. Mine went a few weeks ago and I could add a bit of throttle to keep it going...

if you are not getting a beep, check the red breaker on top of motor

Check the electric fuel pump connection on side of engine. This happened on my 340. The connections are known to go bad. I just cut the connection and spliced it together. No problem since.

actually I was not at idle, just at no-wake speed. Do you think it could be related to the 'automatic extinguisher system'. when I press the port ignition I don't get a green light and no 2 beeps? On the the dash there is some language that says if the exntinguisher system has a problem it cuts the engine.

Same thing happened to me last year. It happened several times even at cruising speed. Took a while to diagnose, but ended up being something electronic under the distributer cap. It was an easy fix for the mechanic once he figured it out.
