Hello All, Reaching out to the Lake St Clair / Great Lakes folks here to see if Port Huron is any place worth going? It looks like to are a few different marinas to choose from… Local to the city (Not sure if these are private or not…) and farther up the river, maybe Bridge Harbor Marina (Next to the Highway)? The Holiday Inn Express with a Marina?

Any recommendations on where to stay, places to go (Restaurants / Bars) or things to do?

Also looks like 3 bridges if we head up the river…

Looking to head up maybe Labor Day Weekend.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

River Street Marina is where we stay! Restaurants within walking distance. Your slip is right on the sea wall. 2 bridges to navigate through.

Live in Port Huron so have a few suggestions. Bridge Harbor is a decent little ride up the Black River. Have to deal with waiting on 3 bridges right in a row and its all no wake zone with the exception of one spot that you can run WOT for less than a minute. Was at Bridge Harbor the past 3 years and moved to the downtown area right across from the bars/restaurants mainly due to the looooong ride over and over. Not bad if you are visiting but kinda sucks everyday and when you get caught in weather.

There are quite a few spots to eat right in the downtown area and drink. Casey's Pizza.....few blocks north of the Black River but worth the walk. Zebra bar right on the water just past the first bridge (north side of river). Wings Etc. just prior to the first bridge (north side as well). Vintage Tavern in across the street from Wings Etc. Bit more upscale and classy than the others, higher end everything compared to everything else. 7th. street slider Bar in somewhat new and good. Freighters is a nice place, but cannot get there on a boat and quite a walk from downtown. Freighters is basically located right next to the bluewater bridge. Lynch's Tavern in on Main St. half a block north of the Black River, great everything there. St. Clair has a few nice spots to stop and eat on your way to Port Huron. One bridge to get through and you can dock right in front of Pepper Joe's. Zebra Bar and Wing's Etc. you can dock right in front of as well.

The Holiday Inn Express has an old abandoned marina behind it, 3/4's of the docks are underwater and I wouldn't even use them for firewood! Marina was not included in sale of the land to Holiday Inn and city never put the money in to the old docks. Bridge Harbor is fun if your just visiting, nice ride up the river if you've never been. I stay docked across from the Zebra Bar right behind the large TCF Bank on the south side. Those slips are through Desmond Marine and there are not any transient slips available right there, continue on up the river and there are some available. Hopefully this link works and you can contact the appropriate marinas for a weekend slip, fill up FAST especially on the holidays. https://www.porthuron.org/community/marinas/index.php
If you need any other info on the area let me know, been here for 41 years lol. Good Luck!

Wow.... that was a lot of info and a bit of history..... but if you were passing through and wanted to stop for a over night 30/50amp service and a cool bar/restaurant with good food...what would be your go to one place?

For a night either Bridge Harbor if you like a river cruise or River Street Marina if you want a quick ride to the slip. All downtown bars/restaurants are primarily located within a few blocks of each other. Classy/expensive is the Vintage, right across the street is 2 story Wings Etc. top floor has balcony ground level faces the river and has few clear garage doors that open to deck seating area (with inside seating as well. Quite a few big screens.....sports bar'ish and food is good. GREAT party place when the weather is nice.

I came through Port Huron a month ago. Nice little party town. Anchored out just past the entrance to the river. Great freaking time!!!
