I am "trying" to understand how to install this gasket/screen into the portlight. The gasket seems to be made for the grove to be outside. I "think" the screen should set in the grove but the gasket fights me when I twist the grove to the inside. Does anyone have any experience putting these in ? Thanks in advance for guidance

Here is a thread with all the information you need. I did mine last year.

Thank you. It was exactly what I needed. They went in perfectly

I purchased four of these P100-04-RETRO kits and installed two in my 330DA. Closing the windows with the new gaskets now seems a little problematic. The new gaskets are quite a bit thicker which causes the top of the window the bind on the gasket when trying to close the window. I've lubricated the top of the gasket and compressed it with a stick while closing the window and it seated although very tight. I called Pompanette and they acknowledged other customers had similar complaints regarding these "new" kits but said the gaskets will form after a while and perform better. Also, the screens tend to buckle when inserted into the gasket groove like they are too big. The screen is no longer flat and has a wave in it. Just thought I would share my experience. It sounds like Pompanette changed their design. Since you can only adjust the dogs at the bottom of the window, loosening them would cause the top to be tight and bottom loose which would cause the window not to lay flat and may lead to a leak. I sure hope the gaskets take a set soon. I don't want to wrestle with these windows every time I want to close them.

I had the same effect, but my gaskets have settled in now and the windows are a bit easier to cloe. Its a bit of a tradeoff of a tight seal VS easy closing. I found a bit of watery dish soap run along the gasket helps with closing. My screens also have a bit of a wave to them because I think the groove in the seal is not deep enough for the plastic screen frame size. Not a big deal to me though.
