Portsmouth NH Info...

Going to be heading up to Portsmouth NH for a few days. Looking at the marina information for that area, I'm not sure where the ideal location for us would be. Anyone know that port well?

Our key criteria:
- Clean bathrooms and showers
- Handy to dining and night life ashore

+1 on Wentworth. The only downside is that it is not located within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth. But Portsmouth is a very small downtown area, so once you get there you can easily get around. Wentworth is a Marriott Resort so getting a cab, or shuttle vehicle is not a problem.

Watch the weather. We had friends come down from Portland Maine on Saturday and they reported that it was really snotty with a solid southerly wind the whole way.

Agree on Wentworth. I used to be at Great Bay Marina. It is ok marina. Wentworth would be better. All marina's are a little ways from downtown.

Wentworth has a courtesy car that they lend you for trips to town or shopping. You can also dinghy to town, but not sure if there is a dinghy dock in town.

Take a $10.00 taxi ride....You will be drunk after being in Portsmouth anyway...Great town

Thanks all...Wentworth is a bit too far from town. Not looking for a resort, just a handy location to downtown. Doesn't seem like there is much there. What about Badger's Island? Could be walked to downtown from there, no?

Yeah, that was a concern of mine. I just had my go/no-go meeting with the guests and based upon the forecast (5' seas and rain) we are going to defer this trip for another time. We are going to go South instead and head for calmer seas.
