Yes, we have matched the 1957 death toll. Pretty much the same % of deaths for the population at .07%. And 2020 is not over yet. AND we know that all sorts of deaths are rolled into the Covid-19 death totals.

lets not forget the annual flu case and death numbers were always related to the fact we do not took any action to contain it - no masks , social distancing , lockdowns etc during the flu season.

now guess the numbers of annual covid deaths approaching it the same way...

My problem with these numbers is they have been perverted by political incentives to overcount as well as financial incentives to overcount.

there have just been too many legitimate reports of deaths by completely unrelated circumstances being counted as Covid.

1) this respiratory virus , not being a living organism , is only able to transmit via close human contact by inhaling small droplets or aerosols feom infected people . so of course distancing and other measures will have an effect .

2) masks ( i hate them !!! ) of course stop or reduce droplets and aerosols from exhauling by sick people and inhauling by healthy people . they not stop it by 100% but its far better than nothing

3) industrial nations balance between economic loss and lives lost . from a pure pandemic point of view a full lockdown is best but of course a tragedy to modern life.

Of course the response to the virus is debatable. Take the example of aerobat's Germany which has managed to have the lowest case and death rates from the virus of other large EU countries despite being next to hard-hit areas. They've also take much less of a hit to GDP and appear to be in a true V-shaped recovery. I'd like to hear from him about some of the measures his country has taken to achieve the success they appear to have had.

That's what the covid extremists forget. There will be ramifications for years from all of this.

My kid is at school. Students are literally in prison -- sitting alone in their rooms afraid to open the door for fear of suspension if they violate a mask rule or something. If you have to go to the isolation facility, you literally only get 30 min a day outside. The schools' mental health program is overwhelmed with students struggling with this.

We like to frequent small neighborhood restaurants. They are just hanging on. They have been able to setup outside dining, but as the cold weather sets in, they aren't going to make it. There is going to be a lot of money lost. One couple we know is going thru a divorce because of the restaurant.

It's just bad all around.
