New issue with power trim. The boat has twin Mercruiser Alpha outdrives.
I recently had a problem with an oil leak. We fixed that. However, now the outdrive will not trim down with the switch after it's been trimmed up more than 50%. I can trim up with the switch from any position. I can trim down from the switch if less than 50%.
If I trim up more than 50%, I have to jump a screwdriver across the solenoid switch to move the drive below 50%, and then the switch works fine.
I feel that it must be an issue in the limit switch, but I have no idea how to troubleshoot or repair.
Thoughts?
