The Merc manual states to mix up 5 gallons of gas, 2 quarts of 2-cycle outboard oil and 5 ounces of fuel stabilizer. Then it instructs to:

"Close the fuel shut off valve, if equipped. Disconnect and plug fuel inlet fitting if not equipped with a shut off valve. Then connect the remote fuel tank (with mixture above) to the fuel inlet fitting."

Then you're supposed to run the engine on this mixture. Well, I have a standard 5.0L MPI engine on my '06 220 Sundeck. I'm not familiar with this technique of fogging at all. I only know the spray foggers.

Anybody know where this fuel shut off or fuel inlet fitting is located? Do I need a special type of "remote fuel tank" for this procedure? Has anybody actually done this? Easy? Hard? How many bananas?

Open up the engine hatch and look straight down. You will see the fuel tank and a fitting that goes from tank to anti siphon valve then to fuel filter or cool fuel module. MPI engines I have never heard of this way of doing. Add the fuel stabilizer to gas tank, run the engine for several minutes and shut it off (Done). Good luck.
