I have to refill my port engine prestone tank a few times per season while the other one is always fine. I have no overheating problems, not much difference in gph and see no leaks at all in the engine compartment. Any ideas ?

My 1997 330da had a similar problem with its stbd engine. I found what appeared to beantifreeze in the exhaust. When I pulled the elbows I found that the outboard side manifold metal had deteriorated to the point that antifreeze was leaking past the gasket and was blowing out the exhaust. I then pulled the port elbows and found metal on one of the manifolds to have deteriorated; but, not the point that antifreeze was blowing past the gasket. I replaced all four manifolds and my antifreeze levels remained steady. Hope this helps.

Check your oil, make sure it's not milky or discolored. If it is, you have an internal leak perhaps from a head gasket.
