Seeking input from the CSR brain trust.
My boat is a 2007, always used in the fresh, clean water of Lake Michigan (and put away for half the year). I replaced the hardwall water intake hoses on both engines and the generator as they had significant cracking, but my cooling system hoses seem to be in good condition. Should I go ahead and replace those as they are 15 years old?
I'm also thinking about my transmission oil coolers. No issues with them and they look to be in good condition, but being 15 years old - should I replace them proactively? If so, OEM, Mr. Cool or Lenco?
I'm not as worried about the heat exchanges for the main engine cooling system, as if those fail - it would only mix lake water with coolant, right? Nothing detrimental like the transmission fluid mixing with lake water.
Appreciate the insight from all.
