I have a1979 240 DA. With a 260 alpha 1 drive. I have been finning a 16 x 16 prop with good reasults very nice around the dock and good cruise. My question is has anyone tried a 4 blade stainless prop with a similar set up? . The prop shop says I will get better stern lift and less slip at cruise. But the diameter is only 14.625 . Ant thoughts

I'm going to advise you the same as Rusty had advised me. Go straight to one of the best groups around. Go to BlackDog Props and fill out the form they have. They will tell you what's best for you and your boat

Or go Here They have been in the prop business much longer, are an OEM supplier to Sea Ray and have been for 20+ years.

Sorta kinda..... I went from a 3 blade Al prop to a 4 blade Piranha composite. The difference was night and day. I was going to go to stainless until I saw a friend tear apart his outdrives in a grounding and saw the price of a nice stainless prop. For me, the composite was the best financial alternative and suited me well for my waters.

Thanks guys,
