I’m not sure about the shaft yet and I do have a spare shaft. I had rudder straightened. Do you think that the strut can be staightened as well

A shaft can not always be straightened. It depends on the alloy of the Aquamet stainless shaft. It's worth a try but be prepared to buy another one. A few years ago the 18' by 2 3/4" shaft for my KhaShing Cockpit Motor Yacht was $3800.

Good point. Also I just paid $1900 for a new 1 3/4” shaft about 10 feet long for my 400DB, for comparisons.
